Strand Espresso, Sydney CBD

Strand Espresso has been my favourite place to grab a cup of coffee whenever I got to the city too early for weekend shopping (too eager lol).
Took my friend and her family who was visiting from overseas here for brunch one Sunday morning.
Driving is out of the question since my car is not fitted with a baby chair, so it has to be somewhere local.

Three and A Half Coffees
Latte, Mocha, Cappuccino & Babycinno

As per usual, we started with some coffees to jump start our engines. Even the little boy got his own cup of "coffee", how cute is that tiny cup of babycinno.

Big Breakfast
Choice of Toasts, Eggs, Bacon, Spinach and Oven Roasted Tomatoes

The usual suspects of bacon, spinach, oven roasted tomatoes, eggs and toasts were on a plate of big breakfast.
The eggs are cooked to your liking, poached, fried or scrambled as my friends had ordered.
You also get to choose from brown bread, white bread or turkish bread for your toasts. I personally like the turkish toast, it's just much nicer when it's toasted and lathered with butter.

Toasted Banana Bread w/ Strawberries & Maple Syrup

I was going to have another lunch outing that day so I opted for something less heavy. The banana bread was nicely toasted, although it looked a tad charred here, it was actually okay.
The bread was sweet, but nicely balanced with the freshly sliced strawberries that are a little bit tart. A "light" sprinkle of icing sugar and a drizzling of maple syrup doesn't hurt either :)

Strand Espresso is conveniently located on the ground floor of The Strand Arcade, a perfect place to rest up your tired feet after a day of shopping, or if you are like me, got to the city ahead of the shops' opening hours :P

  1. This is one place in the CBD core that I can grab a reliably good coffee. Your toasted banana bread looks great!
