Ryotei Ramen, Crows Nest

Finally I get to try Ryotei Ramen !! Woohooo !!!
Sad I know...it took me this long to finally get here :P
I'm glad that we went there before the dinner rush as it was freezing cold and I soooo do not want to queue outside.

Walls plastered with menus and their Top 5 Ramen Ranking Board

The lady across were having the chashu onigiri to accompany her bowl or ramen.
It looked so damn good, but I don't think I would be able to fit an onigiri after ramen.
Next time probably just have the onigiri and some karaage hehehehhe :D

Hakata Ramen

I actually ordered the wrong one LOL
Wanted something else but ended up ordering the Hakata ramen , oh well...
Hakata ramen is made with the collagen laden tonkotsu (pork bone) soup stock with a simple salt flavour. No fancy topping here, just a few slices of the chashu (roast pork), sprinkle of scallions and sesame seeds.
Instead of the curly ramen noodles, it's the thin, straight ramen noodles in Hakata ramen, I think they are called hoso-men (thin noodles)?

Tonkotsu Miso Ramen

My friend had the miso ramen, which is also a tonkotsu based soup. There are more toppings here though, menma (pickled bamboo shoot), tamago (soft soy sauce egg), negi (leek), scallions and naruto (the swirly patterned fish cake).

I can understand why this place is ranked on top of the best ramen eateries in Sydney. The tonkotsu broth is rich, but not as greasy as the one I had before in Ichiban Boshi.
I much prefer this as I didn't feel sick after eating a bowl of it, which means that I probably could fit that chashu onigiri in  ^o^

Wonder how does it compare with Gumshara's tonkotsu ramen ? Heard that that is the best ramen-ya in Sydney.

  4. I love Ryo's. The Tokyo style soy chicken borht is my favourite here. The gyoza isn't bad either! I had dreams about the ramen here! That must be a good thing.
